Tyler Ross a Carleton Univeristy Ph.D. student won the
Student Design Competition at the European Microwave Week
held in Nuremberg, Germany.
His winning entry was a Gysel power combiner designed in a SiGe BiCMOS process at 150 GHz, using novel double-sided thin-film microstrip transmission lines. Participants were from various parts of the world, including several countries in Europe, Taiwan and Canada. The work was presented in an invited paper in a special issue of the European Microwave Association's journal, the International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies.
