Department of Electronics

Welcome to the Department of Electronics at Carleton University. Together with our sister Department of System and Computer Engineering we offer programs in Electrical Engineering , Engineering Physics, Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering. We are one of the largest and most research intensive departments in CAD for electronic circuit design, RF and microwave circuits, photonics and integrated circuit technology . The source of our success is due to our outstanding and internationally respected faculty members

Congratulations on our Medal winners.

Department of Electronics wishes to congratulate the following on receiving the following medals.

Passing of Professor Emeritus Miles Alexander Copeland

The Department of Electronics sadly announces the passing of Professor Emeritus Miles Alexander Copeland.  He died peacefully on April 27, 2016 at Kingston General Hospital and will be missed by his colleagues, and previous students at Carleton University.  Miles was a much admired man with a brilliant and inquisitive mind, but also known for his generosity as a mentor to countless students. An IEEE Fellow, Professor Copeland was recently awarded the prestigious Pederson Award for his pioneering work in solid-state circuit design.

Prof. Copeland awarded the 2016 IEEE Pederson award

Congratulations Professor Copeland on receiving the 2016 IEEE Donald O. Pederson Award for Solid-State Circuits for outstanding contributions to the design and application of switched capacitor and RF signal processing circuits.
